Our favourite metropolitan festival—slash—jamboree returns this year with Duran Duran set to take the MainStage by storm. Common People, yet another successful brain child of Rob da Bank and his Bestival empire, is set to take over two locations this year as well with South Park, Oxford AND Southhampton Common this coming weekend, the 28th & 29th May.
Boasting two days of talented line up and a clever switch in the middle, you’ll find Duran Duran, Katy B and Jamie Lawson (among many others) at Oxford this Saturday, whilst Craig David’s TS5, Primal Scream and Public Enemy own the MainStage in South Hampton. An overnight switch sees the full line up change locations and suddenly the bank holiday weekend has become Festival madness in two great locations!
Duran Duran’s John Taylor mentioned how honoured they were to be part of the Common People lineup, after having so much fun as Bestival last year. And whether you grew up with the music or not, they do make a killer performance— we had the time of our lives in the crowd at their 2015 Bestival performance!
Other than the obvious headliners, and leading DJs we are looking forward to the brilliant selection of onsite bars and kitsch venues that the Bestival family always provides, along with a selection of street food legends that even Gordon Ramsay would be impressed with (okay okay…but when is he ever impressed?). The extra-curricular activities abound too with our favourite knitting tent making an appearance (bring your nana!), an array of arts & crafts, a big top circus, and plenty of entertainment for all ages!
Common People takes place at South Park, Oxford and South Hampton Common on 28 and 29 May 2016, tickets from £27.50 @ http://www.commonpeople.net
