Before we knew it Bestival was off to a great start with the sun shining and punters rolling up in their thousands laden like colourful donkeys carrying their tents, their crates full of beer and cider and proudly wearing their flower crowns.

Though Josie and Rob Da Bank’s iconic festival at Robin Hill on the Isle of Wight is a little more compact than previous years (we hear it’s due to a few stoic farmers reclaiming their fields), it suits the boutique styled festival well. Even on Thursday as we arrived there was plenty to see and do and sights to absorb everywhere we turned, but more about that later!
