“Hare Squead are your new favourite Irish hip-hop trio.” – Noisey
Here at ChuckieVision we have been diligently following this dynamic trio. Since our last blog, HARE SQUEAD have rocketed to the top by surprising us with another single release, ‘Loco’. They remain persistent and focused w ith a streak of genre-defying singles that have seen the band championed everywhere from Annie Mac to 1Xtra’s MistaJam. Not only have they starred in these events, they have premiered via Clash Magazine, the gritty visual for the track showcases the band in their hometown of Dublin and was shot by collaborator Hugh Mulhern. ‘Loco’, along with previous singles ‘Long Way To Go’ & ‘Herside Story’, make up the trio’s debut EP, SUPERNORMAL, which is available to stream & buy now on all major platforms.
“That sweet spot between something that feels of-the-moment and something entirely fresh” – Pigeons & Planes
‘Loco’ sees the band explore their harder side, taking a kaleidoscopic melting pot of influences including their love of trap and grime the track has proven to be a live favourite at shows over the past few months. The track, produced by the band and STEPHEN KOZMENIUK, is the follow up to ‘Herside Story’, which has seen support across Radio 1, Radio 1Xtra and Beats1, not to mention the likes of Dazed, NME, RWD Magazine, DIY, Noisey and The 405.
“Whatever’s next, we’ll be watching.” – NME
And we full heartedly agree with NME. The tail-end of 2016 has seen Hare Squead play a roadblock sell out headline show at Dublin’s infamous Button Factory before supporting starlet DUA LIPA uacross her sold out European tour to thousands of frenzied fans. With a wealth of support already & plenty of new music on the way, 2017 looks set to be a breakout year for Hare Squead.. at least they have with us at ChuckieVision.
