PART ONE
So tonight saw the semi-finale of the last three acts battle it out on X Factor 2016 and what a semi-finale it was! Here at CHUCKIEVISION we watched in high anticipation for the acts to perform and for the results to be announced.
So for those who missed it, let’s hit you up quickly with the events that happened.
Airing on from 8-10pm this evening, I snuggled up on the sofa and watched the performances of the night. Before the night kicked off, we had a special performance. After it was finished, our first act, 5 AFTER MIDNIGHT, performed a singing-cum-dancing montage piece of BEYONCE’S Crazy In Love that set the night off for the rest of the evening. Next up, was candidate from the Boys Team, MATT TERRY, singing Take Me Home by the wonderful JESS GLYNE as he was accompanied by dancers and a supporting choir. Last and certainly not least was our Finnish-born UK singer, SAARA AALTO, singing the wonderful track Everybody Wants To Rule The World by TEARS OF FEAR.
Before the next half, we had the lovely LOUiS TOMLINSON perform an emotional tribute for his late mum, JOHANNAH POULSTON, as she finally lost her fight with cancer and passed away in the early hours 7th Wednesday December 2016, only at the age of 43. From all of us here at CHUCKIEVISION, we commend his sheer strength, courage and efforts to push through and perform. OUr sincere condolences go out to all those close to JOHANNAH DEAKIN.
Next back up were the trio 5 AFTER MIDNIGHT who wre instrumentally supported by CLEAN BANDIT as well as vocally supported by LOUISA JOHNSON singing their last song TEARS (funnily enough created by CLEAN BANDIT and sung LOUISA JOHNSON). Going in strong was MATT TERRY with his mentor NICOLE SCHERZINGER the classic Purple Rain from the late, and certainly not forgotten, PRINCE. ADAM LAMBERT joined the gracous SAARA AALTO with their harmony perfect Bohemian Rapshody by the legendary QUEEN.
THE WEEKND then sang us out with a startastic peformance and last and certainly not least, HONEY G made a return on the X Factor stage performing a song off her new EP soon to be released before the third act, 5 AFTER MIDNIGHT, were sadly evicted from the game.
Throughout the show, DERMOT O’LEARY, hosted the event so graciously as he so brilliantly does.
PART TWO
Let the games begin with two strong musical rivals singing their hearts out for the win on X Factor.
Now comes the finale, where competitors MATT TERRY and SAARA AALTO fought to the match before one flame blew out.
With extremely passionate and talented artists, this has got to be the closest tie out of all X Factor competitions. Before we get into the competition itself, lets applaud all the great names that performed tonight as they all brough the house down: KYLIE MINOGUE, LITTLE and MADNESS.
Back to the singing race, MATT TERRY and SAARA AALTO gave the best show of their lives with previews of Saturday’s show before the winner was announced. “Writing’s On The Wall” bySAM SMITH, from the James Bond film Spectre, which MATT TERRY sang in movie week was his choice whilst SAARA AALTO took us back home with a popular number It’s Oh So Quiet by the infamous BJORK; bringing some added Finnish flavour to the contest (as well as a mystical journey to the Land of Alice in Wonderland). Before the winner was annouced, we had a spectacle of those acts who didn’t make it into the competition that uplifted the night with their humourous singing. SO now, back to the finalists… For those who watched it, like I did, we gave truly applaud both acts as they gave their best performances with both of them storming into the lead and there only being only one spot for one winner…
MATT TERRY!!!
Matt Terry the red-hot favourite to be Christmas number one, after he was crowned this year’s X Factor winner. The Bromley-born singer was the outsider before tonight’s final, but after strong performances, he flung himself to the finishing line. A huge congratulations to MATT from all of us here at CHUCKIEVISION as well as a big thank you to SAARA AALTO for her incredible and dynamic performances… unfortunately, there had to be one winner. Thank you to everyone out there for supporting these fantastic artists and we’ll definitely keep our eyes peeled for their next big leaps as the New Year comes. Best of luck to all the contestants that participated this year!
