STEFFLON DON is the Real Ting just like her first single release Real Ting (23rd November 2016) from her upcoming debut mixtape Real Ting out this month. Often compared to Nicki Minaj (East London’s Nicki Minaj to be more precise), the authentic new talent came straight out of London. On the surface, Real Ting clearly takes influence from STEFF’S UK influences but underneath, the roots are prominent from her Jamaican heritage as well as the wanderlust childhood that bubbles up throughout. Real Ting serves as the perfect introduction to STEFF’S idiosyncratic style as her sound glazed in an eclectic taste that suits both UK households and US. The mixtape will be accompanied with visuals featuring STEFF with an army of cohorts and if you look closely, they’ll be small appearance from DJ KHALED.
Over the past 18 months she has continuously strived to make a name for herself and by doing so, she has jumped on many tracks with SECTION BOYS, ANGEL, LETHAL BIZZLE and DUTCH MC CHO that has increased her popularity and pushed her into the limelight. By doing, many critics and from the team at CHUCKIEVISION, reckon she has moulded into the one of the most exciting artists to come out of 2016. The mixtape has features from the likes of JEREMIH and TREMZ alongside production from RYMEZ (WILEY, SNEAKBO) this is the first hotly-tipped release.
To add to this, STEFF and DAVE (originally known as SANTAN DAVE) make this year’s BBC MUSIC SOUND OF 2017 Longlist. Watch this space for regualr updates!
