If you haven’t heard of this wildflower before, let us introduce you to her…
Unlike most artists who grew up knowing their fervour, JENNIFER KAMIKAZI had her talent bestowed upon her in a different way. On her 18th birthday, as she states on her interview with ANNA COOKSON on the BIG BREAKFAST, she sat on her bed reading her bible. Whilst in prayer, God took her to the scripture, Pslam 22:22 “…I will proclaim your name…”. Funnily enough, her birthday is the 22nd June. The East-Londoner storyteller (originally from Rwanda) had no idea what this meant spiritual passage until the next morning. Waking up, she began to hit all the vocal notes that she previously couldn’t and her song-writing journey began.
Released last August, her EP, WILDFLOWER, is full of symbolic meaning Most of the themes are a lot to do with the time before she began song writing/singer path. It also takes her and s as the listeners back before her spiritual awakening when she had not felt as close to God until the day he revealed himself in all his glory. The EP is a delightful, soulful, folk-acoustic piece accompanied by her travelling guitar companion, Venice. Her EP and debut single, ‘To The Brim’, are the first step of her endeavours to spread a positive and meanigful message. is soft and delicate, please listen to this captivating sensation below:
