Everyone who has even the slightest interest in the weirdly wonderful world of fashion will know what significant event is taking place around this same time every year. You guessed it, it’s Fashion Week and we are going to discuss London specifically here.

Being the type of person whose eyes would light up by the sight of an exciting new statement piece, I felt particularly excited standing in front of Freemason’s Hall , waiting to see the presentation of British couture designer Ada Zanditon. She showcased her collection “Candy land fantasy” which includes beautifully hand- made accessories. Although hearing the name of the collection, you would think of something pink and girly (which is also true) the pieces are much more than that, they also carry a sense of empowerment and strength, similar to warriors’ armour.

Next off was Cassey Gan’s catwalk show. Her collection was the perfect symbiosis of comfort and effortless chic. The designer used different prints and textures to make the pieces stand out, whilst keeping the silhouette relaxed and non form-fitting.

The third and final show of the day was called “A Journey Beyond Borders” which showcased garments made in India and inspired by that same culture. Each designer added their own spice into the mix, making the show more diverse and exciting. Anyone would likely be able to find something to their taste: from edgier, modern pieces to more elegant, traditional clothing. A particularly refreshing aspect of the show was the presence of a diverse range of models with different ethnicities and backgrounds, although the show was dedicated to supporting Indian creators!

After a day filled with lots of emotions and exciting discoveries, it was time for us to go home and rest to prepare for the adventures the next day had in store for us. To be continued…
