Bestival’s ultimate chill out and unwind zone, Slow Motion is making its debut at Camp Bestival this year. The perfect antidote to the kids fighting in the middle of Tears for Fears and standing next to the speakers for the Chuckle Brothers, Slow Motion is a whole arena dedicated to contemporary wellbeing, reenergising and rebalancing, from mindful running and meditation to re-centring yoga and restorative therapies.
Rob Da Bank says he sees Slow Motion as “an escape from the madness of a festival and I suppose the world…” Amid the lingering atmosphere of unease as we gear up to face post Brexit Britain, stepping into the unknown, festivals are little worlds of their own where for those few days political unrest and the fears and stresses of the real world can be forgotten in a little artificial utopia.
There’s a bucket load of activities and treats on offer from edible face masks to mindful running. We’re kind of excited about trying out transcendental meditation while dressed in our interstellar paraphernalia (this years theme is Outer Space), but if that all sounds a bit ‘spiritual’ for you, enjoy the saunas and hot tubs from Tubs and Tents then let The Painted Lady amp up your style with manicures and hair braiding (Where better to try out that man braid you’ve been thinking about?) in the neighbouring nail bar. They’ll also have cold pressed raw juices from Juices ‘Made by Krista’ and Everyday Plant Based Food from Milgi and we think all our fellow coffee addicts will agree that finding that essential caffeine kick to kill the hangover and start the day isn’t always easy, but The Coffee Camper is here to help! No more dragging your friends/family on an early morning coffee hunt, you now know exactly where to get your artisan brew, and there’s solar powered showers there too!
So when it all gets too much and you need to cool down from the from all nostalgic sweaty raving to Fat Boy Slim and clear your head of the pounding from one too many drinks at the silent disco and then 2 more back at the tent, let Slow Motion be your saviour.
There space adventures are coming soon, so keep on checking at this website, Facebook and Twitter for all the latest sub space communications.
